Anyone here watch house of cards. Just finished binge watching the current season. Really chilling and real show, yet at the same time it feels like a parody of real life. Would recommend to anyone who likes political drama.

{Ed001's Note - I watched the first couple of seasons, but have not had a chance to catch up since then. I agree though, it is very good, I really enjoyed it and keep meaning to get round to watching it.}

Anyone here seen narcos yet. Its getting rave reviews plus its on netflix so all eps out at once. got to love netflix.

dilakh2

{Ed007's Note - I watched them over a couple of nights lying in bed to fall asleep to and thoroughly enjoyed it - and it takes a lot for a TV show to impress me enough to even watch a few episodes of it.
I watched Houdini on Netflix which is decent if you like that kind of thing but me and my Mrs are right into American Horror Story just now.
Netflix is great but there is a limited choice, though I'm not complaining, I get mine for free by using my sister's account, watch the Cheech and Chong films on it, Peaky Blinders, Still Game if you can understand it and Jim Jeffries the Australian stand-up comedian, there's also some classic Asterix and Obelix cartoon films that shouldn't be missed.}

Houdini is really good stuff imo

{Ed007's Note - It's just a pity it's only a two-parter.}

Sorry for taking so long ed001 on my review on fargo, been busy. Anyway its decent show, its got a bit of a true detective vibe to it (differeng murder case each season). Also feels like a bit of a breaking bad knock off. Starts of well with a great pilot however once you go further you kind of know how it will end. Overall not worth your time.

dilakh2

{Ed001's Note - ah ok cheers, I will give it a miss, though I have yet to see either True Detective or any more than the pilot for Breaking Bad.}

1.) 17 Sep 2015 17:35:21
Im surprised ed i thought breaking bad would be right up your alley. Sure it starts of slow but it does get better. a lot better.

{Ed001's Note - maybe one day I will go back, but the first episode just dragged on for ages and I did not enjoy it at all.}

2.) 18 Sep 2015 14:28:00
Breaking Bad is excellent, should be near the top of your list Ed001.

{Ed001's Note - the pilot wasn't good though, is it like that all the time?}

3.) 20 Sep 2015 05:36:34
No ed it get significantly better. If you love an anti-hero then your going to love walter white.

{Ed001's Note - ok mate, if I ever have any spare time, to watch something other than footie which is my choice rather than the missus choosing, I will try it again.}

4.) 20 Sep 2015 18:09:29
It most definitely gets better, I really disliked the pilot as well, but after watching the entire first season, I was hooked and needed to watch more.

The Wire and The Sopranos also had a similar effect, I just had to go back for more each time.

{Ed001's Note - I did not enjoy the Sopranos at all.}

5.) 21 Sep 2015 14:42:33
Don't worry Ed, they're not the same kind of show. It's just for me they had that "keep coming back for more" feeling.

How much of The Sopranos did you watch in the end Ed001?

{Ed001's Note - an episode here and there, but never enjoyed it, those kind of gangster things bore me to be honest.}

6.) 22 Sep 2015 14:37:25
There is so much more to it than just the gangster side. It covers all kinds of situations that apply to every day people too. It has another side to it also, with Jennifer Melfi(Lorraine Bracco, still looks great too!) as Tony Soprano's(James Gandolfini) psychiatrist.

There is a lot of gangster related stuff, I won't deny that. Such as the Vito Spatafore(Joseph R. Gannascoli) story and the absolute cluster-f**k that is Tony Blundetto's(Steve Buscemi)story.

The stories in the series which are more "normal" are the stories that surround Tony's immediate family, and much later in the show this also includes his Uncle and Soprano family boss Corrado "Junior" Soprano(Dominic Chianese).

I really think you should give it another shot, at least watch the first season in full.

{Ed001's Note - if I ever get the time mate I will try it one more time.}

7.) 25 Sep 2015 21:24:38
Breaking bad is slow and boring, sopranos was excellent but had nothing on sons of anarchy

{Ed013's Note - SOA was outstanding}

8.) 26 Sep 2015 15:50:20
I liked Sons of Anarchy, well what I'd seen of it anyway. I think it's definitely one that I need to watch all of. Broadwalk Empire is another.

{Ed002's Note - I only ever watch television programmes with Bamboo Harvester in them.}

anyone here that can give me an opinion on fargo, heard its excellent. however i've had bad experiences with other peoples opinion on tv shows e.g sense8.

dilakh2

{Ed001's Note - I have never even heard of it. If you do give it a go let me know what you think please.}

1.) 09 Aug 2015 08:39:26
I still haven't watched sense 8. Probably going to have to skip iy. Never heard of fargo sorry. Been busy trying to catch up with Grey's Anatomy and Revenge

2.) 09 Aug 2015 18:30:41
Btw anyone here who watches those two or am i the only one?

3.) 10 Aug 2015 20:17:28
Watched the first ep ed01 and so far it looks great. Hooks you in real quick. Has martin freeman playing the main role, the hobbit guy. Ill give you an update of it when i watch the whole series.

{Ed001's Note - Martin Freeman? I will have to tell my auntie, she has a huge crush on him and still has the towels he used when he was at her house. No one is allowed to wash or touch them! Oh he was there because her basement was used as the bedsit for Dr. Watson in the Sherlock series. As for Fargo, I will take a look at it when I get a chance.}

4.) 10 Aug 2015 23:42:08
hey reet i used to watch revenge but my heart could not take the suspense of emily being found out each ep. So i quit it.

5.) 11 Aug 2015 18:11:14
Haha your auntie is a very funny gal ed01. As for fargo its gotten great reviews, its a real story aswell and my mate told me they don't stray from the real story and it is told how it really happened.

{Ed001's Note - I will look out for it then mate.}

anyone here watched true detective. has been getting raving reviwes although second season its numbers have fallen. i however just found it too slow paced, now i don't mind slow paced shows but it just bore me. maybe its because i hate Matthew McConaughey's acting. anyway anyon else here who likes the show?.

dilakh2

1.) 13 Jun 2015 20:23:19
Nah. Watched the first episode fell asleep to never watch ever again. I'd take monk and castle over it anyday

2.) 13 Jun 2015 21:21:32
same thing happened to me reet. i however managed to just about finish the first season, and if you asked me what happens i probabaly couldn't even tell you. way to slow paced the show.

The only saving grace for this season is the major plotlines occuring. Everything else has been dreadful, went from a show with excellent writing to the sorry stare it has become now. How much of it is down to the GOT executives having to cram everything into last remaining two season, I don't know.

If you're into tech then you should check out silicon valley. Comedy/drama about what happens when success comes to those least prepared for it. Three seasons of it so it should keep you busy.

{Ed001's Note - I will have a look for that cheers.}

I'm surprised you managed to even get through the season ed. Stopped a couple of episodes in after I clocked it was the same garbage. I've already got the walking dead to disappoint me don't need a new show.

dilakh2

{Ed001's Note - I was only watching to see the family get killed off (hopefully) as I found myself disliking them.}

Yeah I watch it too mate, good sitcom to kill 20 min plus it has Sofia Vergara ed01 so I'm sure that's one good reason to watch the show.

dilakh2

{Ed001's Note - ah ok thanks, now I actually know the show you mean as someone was talking about her and I had to google who on earth she was. That show came up in the search results, so I have seen a bit of it, but only a snatch of it.}
